Tia's Cranberry Glazed Brie

(1) 2.2 lb. wheel of Brie**
3 c. fresh cranberries
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. dried currants
1/3 c. water
1/4 t. dry mustard
1/2 t. allspice
1/4 t. cardamom
1/2 t. ground cloves
1/2 t. ground ginger

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until cranberries pop, stirring often (about 5 minutes). Cool to room temp. Can be prepared 3 days ahead.

Use a sharp knife to cut out a circle of rind from the top of the Brie, leaving a 1/2" border all around. Place cheese in a baking dish with sides, and spread cranberry marmalade over. Can be refrigerated and held for 6 hours.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees and bake just until cheese is soft, about 12 min.  Serve warm or at room temp surrounded by apples, pears and crackers.
 **For a small round of brie, cut the recipe in half...I find that the large wheel (2.2 lb) is WAY too big! OK to reheat in the microwave - 30 sec.
